Namibian-German Student Conference of Humanities

We are delighted to announce the Namibian-German Student Conference of Humanities, cohosted by the University of Namibia (UNAM) and the University of Hagen (FernUniversität in Hagen). The online conference aims to create an environment for students to engage with international peers to foster academic collaboration and cultural exchange. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in intercultural dialogue and network with international peers and renowned scholars. The online conference will facilitate exchanges about the differences in academic environments, study programs, and university cultures between Namibia and Germany. Participants will present their research in a 15-20 minutes presentation followed by a discussion, receive feedback, and enhance their academic profiles. We invite students of undergrad and postgrad levels (Bachelor and Master) to present their final thesis research.

Eligibility:

The conference is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in humanities programs at UNAM and FernUniversität Hagen. We welcome applications from students with a research focus in the following disciplines: History, Literature, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Linguistics, Arts, Education, Political and Social Science.

Conference Details:

• Start and End Point: approx. Friday, late midday until Saturday, early evening.
• Location: Zoom.
• The conference is held in English.

Application Requirements:

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

• Abstract: A max. 300-word abstract of your proposed presentation.
• Deadline: All application materials must be submitted by 15.09.2024.
