At the current time (as of winter semester 2023/24), there are no standardized regulations on the use of AI in examinations at the FernUniversität. However, you should note:
- The unagreed and/or undocumented use of AI-generated content in examinations does not meet the standards of academic work and may be considered an attempt to cheat.
- You should always consult with your examiners if you are considering the use of AI.
- An examination is designed to assess the student’s performance. If the use of AI is permitted, it is up to the students to check and assess the passages used. You bear full responsibility for any errors in AI-generated texts.
- It is advisable to document the use of AI in graded work. You should agree in advance with the examiners how it is to be documented.
