Teaching at the FernUniversität in Hagen is structured within a modular study system, incorporating a variety of learning formats to ensure the best support for achieving your personal educational goals.

The undergraduate bachelor’s and master’s degree courses form the heart of the curriculum. Depending on your particular requirements and study plans, it is possible to study full-time or part-time.

In addition, we also offer other study formats below an academic degree: Open Access Studies at the FernUniversität are much like guest auditor studies at on-site universities. Our certificate courses enable you to realize individual educational goals below the level of an entire undergraduate degree. The academic continuing education programs offered by the FernUniversität are interdisciplinary and enable students to complete degrees in addition to their undergraduate bachelor’s/master’s program.

A core component of the modern and forward-looking teaching at the FernUniversität is a media-based blended learning model involving innovative learning approaches that allows you to study independently of your location at the times that suit you best. The blended learning model is a mix of online teaching and learning opportunities as well as on-campus events. This means that in addition to the learning materials – printed or online – you use an online learning environment during your studies and can attend on-campus events and mentoring events at the campus locations.
