Exams Abroad
Distance-learning students who are permanent residents of a non-neighboring country have the opportunity to take their FernUniversität examinations under supervision at an official German office abroad. Please note that participation in examinations in non-neighboring countries is generally dependent on whether the chosen institution can guarantee suitable organization and supervision. This will be depend on its opening hours and whether a room and personnel are available.
Vacationers or business travelers who are only staying abroad temporarily are not affected by this regulation agreed with the Federal Foreign Office. This regulation also does not apply in neighboring countries. Students living in these countries can take the exams in Germany.
Due to the relatively large number of students, the FernUniversität in Hagen offers on-site supervision in the German-speaking countries of Austria and Switzerland. In close coordination with the faculties, FernUniversität also offers examinations at special cooperation locations (such as in Hungary).
