Enrollment at the FernUniversität
Enrolling at the FernUniversität in Hagen is simple and straightforward. You can submit your application quickly and digitally. If you meet the admission requirements, you are guaranteed a place at our university, as all our degree programs have unrestricted entry (no numerus clausus (minimum grade)). Please note the registration deadlines.

Important Information About Health Insurance!
For legal reasons, full-time and part-time students must provide digital proof of health insurance in order to enroll in a bachelor’s, state examination or master’s program.
Please request a digital notification of insurance status for the FernUniversität in Hagen from your health insurance company in good time before applying (reference number H0001901).
When can I enroll?
- Summer semester: 1 December – 31 January
- Winter semester: 1 June – 31 July
Digital Enrollment – A Brief Step-by-step Explanation:
- Step 1 – IMPORTANT: Request a digital proof of health insurance from a statutory health insurance company. This also applies to those with private insurance. Find out more.
- Step 2: Complete the application on your PC and download your personal application document.
- Step 3: Register in the upload portal and upload the required documents (digital copies). Registration replaces the signature.
- Step 4: Submit your application (including all documents) electronically in the upload portal.
