Studying at the Fernuni: Is It Right for Me?

studyNAVI, our online self-assessment survey, asks you about your expectations and skills and helps you decide on a distance learning program.

Distance learning requires self-discipline, organization, and motivation. Many prospective students have already got full lives: they are working and/or have families and children.

We developed studyNAVI to make sure that you do not start your distance learning program with false expectations. This free and non-binding self-test starts by comparing your expectations of distance learning with the conditions here at FernUni. This is followed by a skills check in the second part, which asks you about your communication and technical skills. We also focus on time management skills. What is particularly practical is that you receive immediate feedback and further information after each answer.

Please note that this version of the studyNAVI test is voluntary and is not the same as the mandatory online self-assessment required for enrollment in the B.Sc. Psychology program. If you plan to study Psychology, please complete the studyNAVI Psychology self-assessment.

At a glance: studyNAVI...

  • ...is voluntary, free and anonymous.
  • ...can be carried out online, preferably on a desktop computer.
  • ...takes about 45 minutes.
  • ...provides a PDF with all the results at the end – with lots of tips and links for further research.
