Master of Psychology: Course Content

There are extremely many areas of application for psychological expertise – from companies and non-commercial organizations to expert appraisal and consulting. The focus is usually on the individual: their strengths, skills and goals – but also their difficulties and problems. Recognizing abilities, promoting talents, adapting conditions or mastering challenges: having a sound knowledge of human thinking, experience and behavior is often the key.

During the master’s degree program in Psychology, you can expect in-depth training in a total of four psychological application areas (educational, personnel, legal and community psychology). In addition, you will acquire advanced cross-disciplinary skills in methodology (applied research methods, data analysis and evaluation) and diagnostics (test construction and report writing). Teaching areas from health psychology (health promotion, stress management and prevention) round off the application-oriented profile of the course. You can systematically develop your practical skills as part of a career-oriented internship, a project module, and your master’s thesis. Intensively supervised face-to-face courses and collaboration with other students in mentor-supported working groups on virtual learning platforms teach social and communication skills that are essential for successful psychological work.
