Part-time distance learning

Regardless of the industry or scope, the most important resource of any company or organization is not its products and services, but the people who work there. Their interactions with suppliers, customers and other relevant stakeholders also play a key role in economic success. A (part-time) distance learning course in business psychology is an ideal preparation for an exciting and varied job that focuses on the key human factor.

Master of Business Psychology: Course Content

The interdisciplinary master’s degree program in Business Psychology offers a broad spectrum of content. Drawing on current trends in research, you will learn how people make decisions in general and in the context of work, how decision-making functions in organizations and business in particular, and how these events are all influenced by personal and social (including intercultural) factors. Dealing with decisions amid the uncertainty and ambivalence that characterize our society and also the business world plays a key role. Many of the courses on offer reflect the commitment of the teaching staff to the cross-faculty, forward-looking research focus areas of Energy, Environment & Sustainability and Work – Education – Digitalization.

As a business psychologist, you will be able to adapt products individually to the requirements of different target groups and develop effective strategies and campaigns for marketing. You will also be able to identify the needs of employees and use this knowledge to create a working environment that promotes employee productivity and well-being. The skills you acquire are a prerequisite for helping to shape working conditions in companies as well as management and organizational cultures. In addition, you will gain a greater understanding of the behavior of competitors in markets, enabling you to prepare, make and implement your own strategic and operational decisions.

The master’s degree course in Business Psychology at the FernUniversität in Hagen teaches basic knowledge from various disciplines relevant to business psychology, such as work, organizational, personnel and health psychology. In a range of elective modules, you will have the chance to set individual priorities – such as in personnel management, change management, marketing, or behavioral economics – thereby enhancing your personal profile. A project seminar serves as preparation for your final master’s thesis.
