Summer School LL.M.
The EDELNet Partnership is delighted to announce that we are inviting applications to the annual EDELNet LL.M. Summer School that this year will take place from 26 to 30 June in Berlin, Germany. As in previous years, 20-25 students from the FernUniversität Hagen (Germany), the Open Universiteit (Netherlands), UNED (Spain), Open University (UK) and the University of Wroclaw will meet at a wonderful location in the EU and have the opportunity to work together as international litigating teams in a moot court simulation designed to offer a high quality learning experience and an insight into real lawyering work. In addition, participants will get a valuable chance to have a meaningful exchange with students and instructors from other European jurisdictions in an institutionally supportive and intellectually challenging environment.
The programme begins with an online preparatory phase in March during which participants are expected to take a few short online courses. In the course of the programme you will receive well-structured and intensive training not only in legal matters, but also in soft skills such as academic debate, legal English, intercultural communication and team work.
This year again we are running two parallel moot court simulations, one dealing with private legal problems, the other with Public International Law. In order for us to better process your applications, we kindly ask you to indicate in which of the two moot courts you would like to participate (PrivIL or PubIL).
Successful applicants are expected to be registered as students at one of the organizing institutions and have a good command of English. Applications should be submitted by 15 March and include motivation letter, a transcript of records of previous courses and a CV.
Participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements. There will be some recommendations for accommodation in Berlin for all participants.
