Während in der Mikroökonomik der Haushalt üblicherweise als ein Entscheidungsträger behandelt wird, steht in der Familienökonomik die Interaktion zwischen den Mitgliedern einer bestehenden oder sich noch im Bildungsprozess befindenden Familie im Fokus der Betrachtung.

Einen Überblick über im Seminar behandelte Themengebiete liefert die nachfolgende (vorläufige) Literaturliste, von der jeder Teilnehmende (nach Freischaltung der Themenvergabe) ein Papier als Hauptpapier auswählt.
