Abstract
Digitally Competent Educators (DCE for short) is an international course programme for teachers in various areas of education, which students of the MA in Educational Science with a focus on digital media or adult/continuing education can also have recognised as an international compulsory elective module. With the aim of developing digital (teaching and learning) competences, the course consists of three sub-modules with different focal points that cover the areas of competence of the European Framework for Digital Competence of Teachers published by the European Commission.
It is recommended that you take the three sub-modules of this English-language course programme in chronological order. All sub-modules are offered once a year from this semester onwards, but are not linked to the regular semester times of the FernUniversität. Please refer to the information behind the course times for the enrolment period.
Enrolment takes place via the Portuguese Universidade Aberta. To enrol, you will need a current certificate of enrolment (in English) from the FernUniversität in Hagen. Attach this document to your enrolment and you can take part in the course free of charge.
Sub-module 1: Introduction to digital competences
This sub-module is supervised by Prof. Dr Eva Cendon and Magda Zarebski from the Department of Adult and Continuing Education at the FernUniversität in Hagen and Dr João Paz from the University Aberta in Portugal and takes place as part of an international teaching cooperation.
Sub-module 2: Teaching and learning with digital media
This sub-module is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr Mehmet FIRAT and Aysun GÜNEŞ from Anadolu University in Turkey and Dr João Paz from Aberta University in Portugal and takes place as part of an international teaching cooperation.
Sub-module 3: Promotion and assessment of learners' digital competences
This sub-module is supervised by Dr Sanna Juutinen from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland and Dr João Paz from the University of Aberta in Portugal and takes place as part of an international teaching cooperation.
