Accompanying research of the joint Federal Government-Länder-Competition "Advanced through Education: Open Universities" (2016-2020)

With the “Advancement through Education: Open Universities” competition the Federal Government together with the Länder is funding universities and universities of applied sciences to develop distinct profiles in the field of lifelong academic learning and part-time study programs designed for professionals and others target groups. The competition is accompanied scientifically by a consortium consisting of the FernUniversität in Hagen (overall management), the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, the TU Dortmund University and the Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE). The research team of the FernUniversität focusses on the interconnection between academic and professional knowledge in study programs developed within the competition and in the context of national and international developments.
