Do you want to let international audiences know about your course, project, or event? Are you writing an application in English for an international project in research or teaching? I’m here to help!
Since summer 2019, I have worked in the FernUniversität’s International Office, translating the central English-language web pages and maintaining the FernUniversität’s English glossary. As a native English speaker and professional translator, I have a keen eye for the most common pitfalls for German speakers writing in English as well as a sense for how to communicate your message effectively across cultures.
I am happy to offer support for your English-language projects and communications, including:
- Proofreading and editing English-language applications for funding
- Proofreading and editing text for your chair or project’s website, or for brochures, flyers, or other media to communicate your activities to an international audience
- Editing and/or translating necessary administrative documents, forms, etc., to support international projects in research and teaching
- General advising on and assistance with English-language terminology, grammar, idiom, and stylistic conventions
If you have questions or would like to discuss your project, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

Beginning November 10, I will also be offering weekly virtual office hours in Microsoft Teams on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. for quick consultations about the language questions you encounter in your everyday work.
If you’re not quite sure about the correct English translation of a word, if you have a question about commas, or if you just want to practice your English small talk for a few minutes, feel free to drop in! You can find more information and the link to join on the Lektorats-Service website.
