The Center for Comparative Research on Pedagogical Professional Groups and Organisational Research (ZeBOHagen) was officially launched on May 23, 2019 with an opening ceremony at the FernUniversität in Hagen. Numerous participants such as practioners, researchers, politicians and students took part in this event. In various forums and plenary sessions, participants discussed the importance of pedagogical work as well as the heterogeneous requirements and general conditions of educational occupational fields. Aim of the foundational congress was to stimulate and inspire a broad exchange across disciplines and fields of work and to foster the discourse on pedagogical professionalization. The ZeBOHagen is and will develop further as a research center with a focus on empirical educational sciences and with the objective of putting the comparative study of pedagogical professional groups, institutions and organisations and the close cooperation with the pedagogical practice at its centre.
