Kurzbeschreibung
The Alpine Space (AS) is particularly sensitive to impacts generated by human mobility behaviour in metropolitan areas/smaller cities, which impairs economic development and quality of life. PUMA provides a common mobility planning approach across sectors and institutions with strong involvement of all stakeholders.
The PUMAS cities will test optimised and AS-adapted mobility planning methods for the development of sustainable mobility measures, which refer to their planning culture as well as to sustainable mobility planning (SUMP) concepts. They will establish an Alpine SUMP Community (ASC) among the PUMAS cities (Lyon-Munich-Nova Goriza-Venice-Vienna-Torino) and thereby improve the awareness, exchange, coordination, and development of comprehensive regional-urban mobility plans (freight & passenger) through an innovative platform for communication, cooperation and exchange (based on PATONGO technology contributed by the FernUniversität in Hagen). The improved stakeholder involvement and the integrated sustainable mobility planning will replace the traditional transport planning culture: PUMAS builds the necessary skills among mobility planners in the AS for establishing sustainable mobility planning methods. Follower cities benefit from the ASC and will join the PUMA community at a later stage oft he project.
