Expertise Transfer
The transfer-oriented research of the WED research cluster is aimed at providing solutions for practical applications. Knowledge transfer and networking with practice partners are therefore undertaken by WED using a multi-perspective approach:
Field Networking
Through the innovative concept of field networkers, WED’s research structure directly incorporates knowledge transfer activities. This guarantees that the research remains closely aligned with real-world fields of activity, facilitating a practical impact on the world of work.
Interdisciplinary Topics
The transfer of knowledge and expertise is thematically and structurally anchored in the WED via the interdisciplinary topics “Knowledge Transfer + Continuing Education” and “Innovation + Start-ups.” The field networkers and the coordination team initiate and support concepts, networking and event organization in these areas.
Networks + Collaborations
Research collaborations with practice partners support the transfer-oriented research of individual projects. The WED also cooperates with external partners within the framework of (externally funded) projects and (transfer) events.
Transfer Formats
WED promotes the regular transfer of knowledge by orgnanizing its own, collaborative transfer events. In this way, ideas, insights and impulses are communicatively exchanged between science, business and society.
Transfer Activities at the FernUniversität
The transfer activities are supported by the Strategic Management of the WED and the associated knowledge transfer units at the FernUniversität: the Hagen Transfer Office and the Berlin Office for Transfer & Collaboration. These dovetail the WED with other regional and national transfer activities at the university.
