Career

Philip Weber has been a research assistant in Prof. Dr. Thomas Ludwig’s research group on Educational Technologies in Digital Transformation since 01.05.2023 at the FernUniversität in Hagen. He is the operational manager for the project What2Study, which develops and deploys LLM-based chatbots for student orientation and advice in universities in NRW as a method of complement the student support offering.

Between 2019 and 2023 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Siegen in Cyber-Physical Systems research group and headed up the research projects Rendezfood (2019–2021) and RegioQuest (2022–2023). While Rendezfood developed social, location-based and gaming-based approaches for the gastronomy sector, RegioQuest's goal was to improve the visibility of training opportunities and jobs through the use of gaming-based and location-specific approaches.

Prior to this, Philip Weber studied Human Computer Interaction at the University of Siegen (2016–2019) and Business Informatics at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (2013–2016).

His research interests cover a spectrum that includes user experience design, conversational agents, gamification, location-based services and social media.
