Information for those interested in doctoral studies

To ensure personal and comprehensive supervision, the number of supervised doctorates is limited. However, I am happy to answer inquiries regarding the supervision of a doctorate. Please note the following points when inquiring about doctoral supervision:

PhD topics

As a rule, I supervise public law theses whose subject matter coincides with the research focus of the junior professorship. Interdisciplinary and Union law theses are welcomed as well as theses focusing purely on national German law.

Doctoral requirements

Doctoral applications only make sense if the doctoral requirements are met. These can be found in the doctoral regulations of the Faculty of Law of the Fernuniversität Hagen in their current version.

Promotion request

Please include the following documents with your inquiry:

• Cover letter explaining your motivation for the desired subject area as well as the time for and financing of the project,
• informative outline of the doctoral project (max. one page),
• Curriculum vitae in table form,
• proof that you meet the requirements for the doctorate (usually a copy of your examination certificate).

If you are interested in your scientific project and a doctoral position is available, I invite you to present yourself and your topic in person.
