Prof. Dr. Jörg Desel
Professor Desel holds the Chair of Software Engineering and Theory of Programming at the FernUniversität in Hagen.
He was a co-founder and long-standing spokesperson of the e-Learning specialist group of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (German Informatics Society) and he is committed to the permeability between computer science vocational training and academic studies.
The focal points of the chair’s research include:
- Modeling in software engineering
- Software specification techniques for embedded systems
- Simulation, specification and validation techniques for process specifications for information systems
- Formal foundations of process specification and analysis, especially with Petri nets
- Scenarios for media-supported teaching and learning systems
Professor Desel is a member of the research cluster’s executive board.
