Dr. Katharina Heidtmann
Curriculum Vitae
Katharina Heidtmann joined the chair in December 2023 to work on the research project "Hemm den Wind - Obstacles to wind energy expansion in Germany" funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). In the political science part of the project, she researches local direct-democratic procedures, such as citizens’ petitions and referendums, as well as the question under which conditions these procedures obstruct wind energy expansion. From 2018 until 2021, she completed her doctorate at the University of Oldenburg on the topic of non-compliance with EU environmental legislation at the local level in the context of multi-level governance. Since 2021 she also works in local climate protection, where she is engaged in climate change controlling, focusing on energy and greenhouse gas accounting, climate protection monitoring and municipal thermal planning, among others.
