Professor Stefan Smolnik is co-host of the MKWI 2016 - Sub-Conference "Wissensmanagement" (Knowledge Management)

The Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik (MKWI) 2016 will be hosted from 09th to 11th March 2016 in Ilmenau, Germany. 32 sub-conferences will be held during the MKWI 2016. For the second time Professor Stefan Smolnik is co-host of the sub-conference "Wissensmanagement" (Knowledge Management). The deadline for submissions is the September 27th, 2015.
Description of the track:
The need for a systematic knowledge management (KM) is hardly questioned in practice. To the existing and used knowledge in Organizations is attributed central importance in relation to their innovative ability. Therefore, even in economically hard times the importance of knowledge as a resource should not be neglected, since companies that invest in their innovative ability even in times of crises often develop better. It becomes obvious, however, that Companies are not satisfied with their knowledge management. This circumstance can be reasoned in the fact, that established standards and approaches for the evaluation of knowledge management are still missing. Generally accepted instruments that allow an assessment are hardly found in the literature. It thus remains in the dark what knowledge management tangibly provides. Not only in economically difficult times, which often go hand in hand with budget cuts and austerity measures, even knowledge manager or CKO’s feel confronted with a high justification pressure (stress). They have to give reason for the expenses for knowledge management. Therefore, it is necessary that also benefits and success of knowledge management activities can be substantiated. Besides of the consideration focused on content and current topics in the context of knowledge management, especially the confrontation with detectable effects and measurable success in knowledge management should be encouraged.
