The 18th International Conference on Business Information Systems (BIS 2015) takes place June 24-26, 2015 at Poznań, Poland. The theme of the BIS 2015 is “Making Big Data Smarter". Professor Stefan Smolnik is an appointed member of the Program Committee for the BIS 2015.

About the BIS 2015:

During the 18 years of the BIS conference history, it grew as well renowned event of the scientific community. Every year it joins international researchers for scientific discussions on the development, implementation and application of business information systems, based on innovative ideas and computational intelligence methods. The conference addresses a wide scientific community and experts involved in the development of business computing applications.

For the past years, we have been observing an increasing interest in Big Data, accompanied by development of new, more efficient data analysis methods. Big Data is now a fairly mature concept, recognized and widely used by both research and industry. They work on developing more adequate and efficient tools for data processing and analysing, making Big Data – Smart Data.

Possibilities that emerge from Smart Data are unlimited, but one will not be able to take advantage of it without appropriate technologies, applications, methods, and business processes. Thus, Smart Data links many fields of computer science and information systems together.

The BIS conference is a well-respected event joining international researchers to discuss the wide range of the development, implementation, application and improvement of business applications and systems. It is addressed to the scientific community, people involved in the development of business computer applications, consultants helping to properly implement computer technology and applications in the industry.
