Talk by Alexandra Puchalska
On July 28th, 2021, Dr. Alexandra Puchalska (Universität Warschau) gave a talk about "Multigroup SIS type model with fixed time impulses" as part of the research seminar Analysis of the FernUniversität in Hagen. This lecture is partially supported by the COST action Mathematical models for interacting dynamics on networks.
Abstract
In the talk we present a system of SIS models coupled by impulses at fixed times in the way that it can describe the transfer of patients between healthcare facilities. The first aim for his considerations is to provide analytical background for numerical simulation of multidrug-resistant bacteria spread based on admission/discharge data from insurance providers for Saxony and Thuringia (Germany) for years 2010 - 2016 considered in [1].
On the other hand the research is the first look at the relation between impulsive multigroup dynamical systems and the concept of metric graphs. We will give some thoughts on possible convergence results between those two objects which is the aim of further study. Additionally, we indicate how relatively simple spectral estimates can be used in applied sciences (to control the level of infectiveness of patients’ network).
The results were obtained in collaboration with Monika J. Piotrowska and Konrad Sakowski.
