Review of the ‘Workshop on Multiple Categorisation’ at the Hamburg campus location
On 18 and 19 December, the ‘Workshop on Multiple Categorisation’ took place at the Hamburg campus, which was largely organised by the Department of Behavioural Economics and Intercultural Psychology. 18 committed researchers took part, including two who were connected online via Zoom. The event had an international flavour, with participants from Germany, Switzerland, Turkey and England.
The first day was all about dialogue. In several short presentations, the participants presented their main areas of research on site. Each presentation was accompanied by discussion rounds, which not only provided critical comments but also valuable suggestions for further research. This part of the workshop programme was also open to external interested parties. Via Zoom, some students and employees of the FernUniversität Hagen as well as external guests took the opportunity to participate as listeners.
The second day was interactive. Two working groups were formed to work on specific projects. One group, consisting mainly of senior researchers, was led by Angela Dorrough and focussed on a larger collaborative project, such as the DFG research group. The second group, consisting of junior researchers and doctoral students, worked with the aim of developing new collaborations for future research projects.
Both groups were able to establish initial approaches for joint projects and define clear roles and work assignments. The next steps include meetings to further coordinate these projects.
We would like to thank all participants for their inspiring contributions and look forward to further collaboration!
